Hey everyone! My name’s Michelle, and it’s nice to meet you. I’m a full-time social worker and a part-time foodie. And about that last part, a week ago, I got some hair-raising news. Officially, @ 344, my total cholesterol reached: Plodding Heart Attack.
It’s been time to do something about this for a while. I’ve watched that level go up and up and up. It’s true, I’ve been busy, but I’ve also been lazy – and eating way too much while I’m lazy. Apparently, I’ve got a case of the ‘izzies and ‘azies.
Thirty years ago, I went vegetarian, just for 2 years, but this time, I’m going further. So, I’ve assigned myself homework, just like I do with clients. It’s time for a Vegan Progression. I’m giving up cheese, butter, and yogurt, meat, chicken and eggs – oh, and sugary smoothie-style drinks, and an obscene amount of creamer in my coffee- all of the fatty and sweet things I love. Lightening up on potatoes might also be on the menu.
If you decide to follow me on my journey…my Vegan Progression…here’s hoping, we learn something useful and maybe even fun together.
